Bando di Partecipazione e Regolamento del festival internazionale
Ferrara Film Corto 2021 • IV Edizione: “AMBIENTE È MUSICA”
Date: L’evento si terrà nella seconda metà di Gennaio 2021 (date da definire).

Art 1 – Obiettivi e finalità
Ferrara Film Corto è una manifestazione culturale il cui scopo è quello di valorizzare l’opera cinematografica breve realizzata da autori indipendenti. A tale scopo, la IV Edizione del Festival prevede due categorie di partecipazione:
• AMBIENTE È MUSICA: categoria principale, aperta ad autori nazionali e internazionali di qualsiasi età, che dovranno interpretare il tema “AMBIENTE È MUSICA” in maniera del tutto personale, mediante il linguaggio cinematografico. La categoria è aperta a ogni genere di cortometraggio.
• BUONA LA PRIMA: categoria aperta ad autori italiani, o residenti in Italia, di qualsiasi età e dedicata unicamente a opere prime, a tema libero. La categoria è aperta a ogni genere di cortometraggio.
Art 2 – Enti promotori
I promotori sono: l’associazione di promozione sociale FERRARA FILM COMMISSION, con il patrocinio del COMUNE di FERRARA e di ASCOM Confcommercio Ferrara.
Art 3 – Date e durata
Il festival si svolgerà, con proiezioni pubbliche, presso la Sala Estense (Piazza Municipale - Ferrara) per una durata complessiva di 5 giorni, nella seconda metà di Gennaio 2021.
Art 4 – Condizioni per la partecipazione
La durata massima per i cortometraggi sarà di 20 minuti (crediti inclusi).
Si accettano solo opere, edite e inedite, realizzate a partire dal 1 gennaio 2018.
Il limite massimo di opere da presentare è di due.
Nella categoria “AMBIENTE È MUSICA” possono partecipare solo opere, di autori nazionali e internazionali, che interpreteranno, in maniera del tutto libera, la tematica scelta per l’edizione 2021 del festival, come indicato in apertura. Sono ammessi cortometraggi appartenenti ai generi: fiction, animazione, documentario, docu-film, videoclip, videoarte e ogni altro genere. Non sono ammesse opere realizzate in pellicola, ma solo prodotte tramite tecnologie di ripresa digitali.
Nella categoria “BUONA LA PRIMA” possono partecipare unicamente opere prime, di autori italiani o residenti in Italia. Il tema è libero; sono ammessi cortometraggi appartenenti ai generi: fiction, animazione, documentario, docu-film, videoclip, videoarte e ogni altro genere. Non sono ammesse opere realizzate in pellicola, ma solo prodotte tramite tecnologie di ripresa digitali.
Art 5 - Concorso
Il concorso prevede due premi principali in denaro:
• Premio per il miglior corto nella categoria “AMBIENTE È MUSICA”: € 500
• Premio per il miglior corto opera prima nella categoria “BUONA LA PRIMA”: € 300
due premi speciali:
• Premio speciale “#CLIMATECHANGE” dedicato alla tematica del cambiamento climatico: targa
• Premio speciale “MUSICA INDIE” per la miglior colonna sonora indipendente: targa
e tre targhe aggiuntive:
• Premio per il miglior documentario, assegnato da Comune di Ferrara
• Premio per il miglior attore/attrice, assegnato da Ascom Ferrara
• Premio per il miglior corto di un autore di Ferrara e provincia o girato nel territorio ferrarese, assegnato da Apollo Cinepark
Art 6 – Selezione delle opere
Le opere pervenute saranno esaminate da un’apposita commissione nominata dall’Organizzazione, il cui compito sarà di giudicare le opere da ammettere in concorso.
L’elenco dei film selezionati per il Concorso verrà pubblicato a partire dal 20 dicembre 2020 sulla pagina Facebook di Ferrara Film Commission e sul sito www.ferrarafilmcommission.it
Tutti gli iscritti riceveranno comunicazione della selezione ufficiale dopo il 20 dicembre 2020.
Art 7 – Invio delle opere
Le opere potranno essere inviate unicamente a mezzo FilmFreeway.
Nel caso le opere siano selezionate e ammesse in concorso, i partecipanti verranno contattati dall’ufficio tecnico dell’Organizzazione, per concordare l’invio del file di proiezione, che dovrà essere in formato MOV o MP4 (e codec MPEG2 o H.264 – non sono accettati formati Prores).
Art 8 – Giuria e premi
I vincitori saranno designati da una giuria composta da esperti provenienti da svariati ambiti (cinematografico, musicale, scientifico e non solo).
Gli assegnatari dei premi saranno avvisati due giorni prima e sono espressamente invitati a presenziare alla cerimonia di premiazione.
I nomi dei giurati verranno comunicati venti giorni dopo che sarà stata fatta la selezione delle opere ammesse in concorso e comunque entro il 10 gennaio 2021.
Art 9 – Disposizioni generali
Partecipando al concorso, si accetta automaticamente l’utilizzo da parte dell’Organizzazione del Festival di porzioni delle proprie opere (per un massimo di 30”) e del trailer per la divulgazione promozionale e pubblicitaria delle attività.
L’Organizzazione potrà utilizzare tutte le opere pervenute per realizzare e promuovere eventi culturali analoghi come rassegne e proiezioni pubbliche o private, senza alcuno scopo di lucro, attraverso mezzi audiovisivi multimediali, anche dopo la chiusura del festival.
L’Organizzazione si riserva il diritto di annullare una delle sezioni, qualora non pervenisse un numero sufficiente di opere per una determinata categoria.
Per ogni eccezione non rientrante nel presente regolamento, l’Organizzazione si riserva il diritto di assumere decisioni definitive.
Per ogni eventuale controversia legale è competente il Foro di Ferrara.
Per qualsiasi controversia relativa al Festival, il giudizio inderogabile è riservato all’Organizzazione.

Call for Participation and Rules of the International Festival
Ferrara Film Corto 2021 • IV Edition: ‘ENVIRONMENT IS MUSIC’

Art 1 - Mission
Ferrara Film Corto is a cultural event whose purpose is to enhance the short cinematographic work created by independent authors. For this purpose, the IV Edition of the Festival contemplates two categories of participation:
• ‘ENVIRONMENT IS MUSIC’: main category, open to national and international authors of any age, who will have to render the theme ‘ENVIRONMENT IS MUSIC’ in a completely personal way, through cinematographic language. The category is open to all kinds of short films.
• ‘BUONA LA PRIMA’: category open to Italian authors, or residents of Italy, of any age and dedicated only to first-time short films, with a free theme. The category is open to all kinds of short films.
Art 2 - Promoters
The promoters are: FERRARA FILM COMMISSION (Social Promotion Association), under the patronage of the Municipality of Ferrara and ASCOM Confcommercio Ferrara.
Art 3 - Dates
The festival will take place, with public screenings, at the Sala Estense (Piazza Municipale - Ferrara) for a period of 5 days, in the second half of January 2021.
Art 4 - Conditions
The maximum length for the short films is set to 20 minutes (credits included).
We only accept published and unpublished works created from January 1, 2018. The maximum number of works to be presented is two.
In the ‘ENVIRONMENT IS MUSIC’ category only works by national and international authors can participate, who will render, in a completely free way, the theme chosen for the 2021 edition of the festival, as indicated at the beginning. Short films belonging to the following genres are allowed: fiction, animation, documentary, docu-film, video clips, video art, and any other genre. Works shot on film roll are not allowed, but only produced through digital shooting technologies.
In the category ‘BUONA LA PRIMA’ only first-time short films by Italian authors or residents in Italy can participate. The theme is free; short films belonging to the following genres are allowed: fiction, animation, documentary, docu-film, video clips, video art, and any other genre. Works shot on film roll are not allowed, but only produced through digital shooting technologies.
Art 5 - Competition
The competition has two main cash prizes:
• Prize for the Best Short Film in the ‘ENVIRONMENT IS MUSIC’ category: € 500
• Prize for the Best First-Time Short Film in the category ‘BUONA LA PRIMA’: € 300
Two special awards:
• ‘#CLIMATECHANGE’ special award: plaque
• ‘INDIE MUSIC’ special award for the Best Independent Soundtrack: plaque
And three additional plates:
• Best Documentary, awarded by the Municipality of Ferrara
• Best Actor/Actress, awarded by Ascom Ferrara
• Best Short Film by an author from Ferrara and its province or shot in the Ferrara area, awarded by Apollo Cinepark
Art 6 - Selection
The works received will be examined by a special commission appointed by the Organization, whose task will be to judge the works to be admitted to the competition.
The list of films selected for the Competition will be published from December 20th, 2020 on the Ferrara Film Commission Facebook page and on the website ferrarafilmcommission.it.
All members will receive notification of the official selection after December 20th, 2020.
Art 7 - Submission
The works can only be sent via FilmFreeway.
If the works are selected and admitted to the competition, the participants will be contacted by the Organization's technical office, to agree on the sending of the projection file, which must be in MOV or MP4 format (and codec MPEG2 or H.264 - ProRes formats are not accepted).
Art 8 - Jury & Awarding
The winners will be appointed by a jury made up of experts from various fields (cinematographic, musical, scientific and not only).
The recipients of the prizes will be notified two days before and are expressly invited to attend the award ceremony.
The names of the jurors will be communicated twenty days after the selection of the works admitted to the competition has been made and in any case by January 10th, 2021.
Art 9 - General Provisions
By participating in the competition, you automatically accept the use by the Festival Organization of portions of your works (for a maximum of 30 seconds) and the trailer for the promotion and advertising of the Festival activities.
The Organization will be able to use all the works received to create and promote similar cultural events such as public or private exhibitions and projections, without any profit, through multimedia audiovisual media, even after the festival closes.
The Organization reserves the right to cancel one of the sections, if a sufficient number of works for a specific category does not arrive.
For any exception not covered by these regulations, the Organization reserves the right to make final decisions.
The Court of Ferrara is competent for any legal controversy.
For any dispute relating to the Festival, the mandatory judgment is reserved to the Organization.
