About the festival

The Femme Fatale Film Festival is a Toronto-based festival empowering young female filmmakers by sharing their work on the big screen. The idea of the festival is to support young filmmakers that are just entering the industry: We're looking for creative and passionate voices to join us on screen!

At the end of each festival, we give out a Best in Show award. This award is determined by the audience and the content of the prize varies from year to year.

Terms and rules

In order to submit to the festival, you must be a female-identifying filmmaker between the ages 15-25. In order to include as many filmmakers as possible, your film must be between 3 and 6 minutes long. Some exceptions apply, please contact us if you have any questions or concerns! We try to include most of the films submitted, we may ask to change the language in a film to adhere to a younger audience and may decide against including a film with heavy content matter to keep the festival accessible to all.
