The CUNY Film Festival showcases the best of filmmakers affiliated with any of our 24 campuses. It brings together the excitement and diversity that represents what New York is all about. Screenings are on April 28 and 29, 2017 with an exciting awards ceremony and party on April 30th. Entry is free and open ONLY to our students, faculty and alumni.

Awards include crystal trophies for the winners and framed certificates for the runner ups.

Terms and rules

Any film made primarily by currently enrolled CUNY undergraduates and graduate students, faculty or alumni will be accepted. (PLEASE INDICATE YOUR CAST or CREW'S CUNY AFFILIATION CLEARLY IN YOUR BIO OR CREDITS.)

Films of any genre or length and completed within the last two years will be considered; films not made by a member of the CUNY community will NOT be considered. A panel of expert judges will select finalists and three winners by April 7,2017. All winning films will be screened and prizes awarded at the Awards Gala on April 30, 2017. The gala and party will be held at Macaulay Honors College in New York City and will be open to the public.
