Colorado Horror Con & Halloween Film Festival is in its first year and already exciting things are taking shape! We are committed as fellow artists to bringing the best in horror to fans and enthusiasts worldwide. In order to fulfill that mission, we are looking for cutting-edge, original, and inspired films from filmmakers who love the horror genre as much as we do.
Our festival is open to films of any length as long as its subject matter deals with horror or, in warranted instances, sci-fi and fantasy. We love originality, but we also dig films that homage other eras of horror. Have a cool slasher flick, or vampire gem, a monster epic, or something that's never been conceived before? We are interested!
This festival is running in tandem with our horror convention, which will bring together wonderful talents from all artistic disciplines devoted to the horror genre. It'll be an opportunity for filmmakers to meet like-minded individuals while being able to screen their films before full audiences. If you are a horror filmmaker on any level, from micro-budgeted to fully funded, we encourage you to submit your film!
Awards and prizes will be made available to filmmakers. As a first year festival and convention, we are still working out the particulars, but there will be two filmmakers who'll receive our Colorado Horror Con & Halloween Film Festival CLEAVER Award. These awards will be presented based on audience voting results.
We will also be presenting special guests with lifetime achievement awards and inducting others into our Horror Hall of Fame. Sponsors have yet to be named and are subject to change, but we're devoted to awarding filmmakers with cool awards and prizes!
