This is a bi-weekly screening series focused on independent films that go overlooked by film festivals. While we are in the interest of showing well-made films regardless of the context, and all will be seriously considered, special consideration will be given to films that utilize low budget resources and exhibit qualities of the auteur theory such as personal subject matters or unique aesthetics and techniques.
The aim is to promote a film culture of artists who want to share their work and hone their craft, but don’t necessarily subscribe to the lengthy and exclusionary film festival submission process.
A unique aspect of this series is your submissions will be reviewed quickly and, if accepted, exhibited the following month at the Secret Rose Theater in North Hollywood, CA.
The screenings will be similar to premieres with a reception preceding the films, followed be a presentation and analysis given by Anthony, the owner of Cineartistry. The films will then be shown, followed by an after party at one of the many establishments in the area, time permitting.
There are two categories: Features and Shorts. Every other Saturday, a chosen short will be screened, followed by a chosen feature.
All chosen films will be screened on a certain Saturday the following month at the Secret Rose theater in North Hollywood, CA.
There will be a presentation and analysis given before the film by Anthony, the owner, head writer, and curator of CineArtistry.
Three winners of Top Films of the Year will receive:
- A free copy of Final Draft 10, the industry standard Screenwriting Software
- An InkTip Script Listing: A listing of your script on InkTip so that producers and reps can find you. InkTip: Where producers go for scripts and writers. Producers have made more than 315 films from scripts and writers they found through InkTip.
There will be additional prizes to be named later per sponsorship approval.
