About the festival

The Chicano International Film Festival (ChIFF) is back for its 21st year! It's the longest running film festival in Los Angeles, with film submissions from around the world! Dedicated to the advancement of America's largest bi-culture, ChIFF provides lifestyle expression and art through film. This year’s festival is set for November 11th, 2017, at the famed Plaza de la Raza Cultural Center in East LA.

This year's festival will feature a discussion with prominent Chicanx/Latinx directors, actors and industry leaders with a special guest MC. As always, this year's activities include the ChiFF Awards for Lifetime Achievement & Biggest Impact, plus special screenings from select winners of the 12 film categories.

Since 1995, ChIFF, originally known as Cine Sin Fin, has been one of the few platforms to highlight the robust contributions of Chicanxs on film. ChIFF provides a platform that connects filmmakers and audiences from around the world. First, it started off in tiny venues throughout East LA showcasing local filmmakers and in 2016, culminated into an international affair at ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood. ChIFF's Festivals combine film screenings, art installations, panel discussions, live performances, and community events. All of this to cultivate a deeper understanding and discussion about the intricate Chicanx lifestyle in the US and abroad.

ChIFF is committed to making a difference by providing mentoring and educational avenues. We inspire and empower future filmmakers! The heart of ChIFF is building connections with television, film and digital media industries in order to create viable markets for generations of filmmakers and storytellers to come.
