About the festival

The Charlie Awards Film Festival is open to any high-school students in Waterloo Region. We showcase the best in student films the last Thursday in April every year at the original Princess Cinema. During the day, all student films are viewed and feedback provided by a team of adjudicators who are professionals in the field. Then ten films move on to the second round at an evening showing that's open to the public. The top three films are awarded cash prizes at the end of the evening.

First prize is $300 and a trophy is kept in your school for a year. Second prize is $200, and third prize is $100. There are also door prizes at the evening showing.
