About the festival

In its third season, ChamPain Indie Horror Fest gathers independently produced horror shorts from filmmakers locally and scattered across the country. The intent of the festival is to spotlight and lift up the art of horror filmmaking, and the filmmakers behind those films.

ChamPain Indie Horror Fest seeks to offer an exciting and fun lineup filled with films stretching across the entirety of the horror genre from parody to monster movies to psychological thrillers and more.

Terms and rules

1) Judges and employees who work for Malachi Entertainment are not eligible to enter the competition, nor are their affiliates or immediate family members.

2) All films must be submitted in English or with English subtitles, and entry fees must be paid in U.S. dollars. Entry in the competition is void where prohibited by law.

3) All filmmakers' names should be listed in the online entry. By submitting online to the ChamPain Indie Horror Fest, entrant warrants that all filmmakers have authorized the submission.

4) Entrants to the ChamPain Indie Horror Fest retain all rights to their filmmakers.

5) Entries must be received by the applicable Entry Deadline.

6) Entires do not have to be limited to recently written and produced films.

7) While we are open-minded to all types of horror films, and do not seek to censor in any shape or form, entries that contain extreme exploitation or resemble snuff films WILL NOT be accepted.

8) Once a film has been entered into competition, we will not accept substitutions or edited versions. If you wish to submit an edited version of your film, you must enter it as a new submission.

9) The ChamPain Indie Horror Fest will not share your film with anyone except the official judges of the competition without prior permission.

10) By entering the ChamPain Indie Horror Fest, you represent that your entry is your original work, and does not infringe on the copyright or other rights of other people or legal entities. Entrant indemnifies Malachi Entertainment and its employees and subsidiaries and holds them harmless from any claims regarding infirngement or dissemination of materials.

11) Entry fees are non-refundable.

12) The decisions of the judges are final.

13) The ChamPain Indie Horror Fest reserves the right to make any necessary changes, postponements, or cancellations to competition scheduling at our discretion.

14) Notification of winners will be sent by email and posted on our Facebook Page.
