About the festival

It's that time of year again, but this time we've got some exciting changes! With all the amazing feedback we have received over the last few years The Boston International Kids Film Festival has moved to....drumroll please...the flagship public television station in the country, WGBH Educational Foundation!

We will continue screening family-friendly films, both professionally and student-made, hailing from countries that span the globe, but with more! WGBH has two beautiful theaters with plentiful seating and more space for workshops and activities to take place than ever before! This will allow us to have a space that is fully dedicated to the festival making it an easier and more enjoyable experience for our attendees.

Our mission remains to highlight the talent of independent filmmakers everywhere while inspiring young people to share their own stories with the world!

Best Film ( filmmaker ages 18 and over)
Best Foreign Language Film ( filmmakers of all ages)
Best Student Film ( filmmaker ages 18 and under)
Best Student Documentary ( filmmaker ages 18 and under)
Audience Choice Award (filmmakers of all ages)
The Peggy Charren Award for Excellence ( filmmakers of all ages)
