About the festival

The Boston Drone Film Festival celebrates the creative pursuit of international drone cinematographers and drone photographers from around the world.

NOMINATION & NOTIFICATION
Festival Nominees will be chosen by a jury of leading producers, directors, drone operators, photographers and creatives.

Festival Nominees will be announced on October 12th. All filmmakers that submit their work will be sent an email from FilmFreeway notifying them of their judging status.

All nominated submissions will be posted at www.bostondronefilmfestival.com and notified by email. If nominated, exhibition format digital files will be requested from the artist.

Finalists in the 360° and Photography Categories will have their work displayed at the 2020 Screening and Website. Finalists for the film categories will have part of their film shown during their respective category reel.

ONLY THE CATEGORY WINNER WILL HAVE THEIR FILM SHOWN IN FULL.

All Submissions must be made at: www.filmfreeway.com/bosdff

All Film Submissions must be 5 minutes or less in length and include at least 50% drone footage.*

360° & Photography Submissions must be taken using a drone. *

* By entering your film for consideration for the 2020 Boston Drone Film Festival, you authorize that your work is cleared for festival exhibition and accept full legal responsibility for the intellectual property therein. Entry into the festival constitutes permission to exhibit your work at the 2020 Boston Drone Film Festival, on the Festival’s website and social media.

The person submitting the Film (hereafter called the "Applicant") acknowledges that he or she has obtained consent and from any and all owners, creators, writers, actors, producers and/or other authorized representatives of the Film whose consent is required to submit the Film to the Festival.

It is the sole responsibility of the Applicant to secure authorization and permission from the copyright owner(s) of any and all copyrighted content or materials included within the submitted Film. It is the sole responsibility of the Applicant to secure authorization and permission from the owner(s) of any and all trademarked content and materials included within the submitted Film. If a Film exhibits blatant copyright, it will be immediately disqualified.

The Festival shall have sole authority and discretion to determine whether a Film that was previously submitted has been changed significantly from the previous submitted version. Festival organizers reserve the right to make exception to any of the rules at their discretion.

The Boston Drone Film Festival does not pay any fees for submitted work. If nominated, exhibition format digital files will be requested from the authors.
