About the festival

And so begins the Blissfields Film Festival's third consecutive year as we re-open doors to the cine-cosmos, welcoming the magic of the silver screen into our tree-lined mini wilderness in the Hampshire countryside. Premiering in 2013, the Blissfields cinema Electric Dreams has been the home of the Blissfields Independent Film Festival, DocTent and late night movie screenings. It’s Blissfields’ own celebration of the big screen.
If you’re a budding film-maker or student director, get involved by submitting your film. The shortlist of the best films will be screened during Blissfields before expert judges decide their “Best In Show”.

As Blissfields enters the halfway point of its second decade it takes a weekend to look back over its 15-year history and more, and to gaze into the curious future of the universe, permitting your imagination to run free. We invite you, and all tourists from the future, to the ultimate journey in traveling across the ages with Blissfields 2015 – Somewhere In Time.

This year’s judges include;

Beth Walker (Founder: DocHouse / DocTent)
Dale McCready (Director of Photography: Doctor Who / Cucumber)
Frazer Churchill (Visual Effects Supervisor: The World’s End / Scott Pilgrim)
Keir Mills (Promoter: Soundtracks)
Libby Montague Brown (Production Account Manager: Disney)
Paul Bonham (Diversity: Arts Council)
Paul Hanford (Promoter: Future Cinema / Secret Cinema)
Ray Panthaki (Producer / Actor: Kidulthood / 28 Days Later).
Zakaria Boumediane (Senior Artist: Godzilla / Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes / The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug)

…with more to be added.

We’re currently working on a prize bundle, which will include some swag and time with industry experts. Stay tuned.

Terms and rules

Films that fit our “somewhere in time” theme may be in better standing for screening selection, but there’s no entry criteria outside of filmic submissions only (no music videos please), a run time of between 5 and 15 minutes long (ish), and you being the rights holder. If your film is chosen to be screened, you’ll receive a pair of tickets to join us at the festival. So if you reckon you have the next “Primer” in you – let’s see it.

All accepted entries will be notified via FilmFreeway, please do get in touch if you'd then like to attend.
