BBISFF's 2019 EDITION ONLY ACCEPTS ROMANIAN SHORT FILMS SUBMISSIONS

Terms and Conditions
- Works in Progress will not be accepted. Please submit your films completed in their final format.
- Films that can take part in the festival:
a) Short films FICTION up to 30 min
b) Short films DOCUMENTARY up to 30 min
c) Short films ANIMATION up to 30 min
- All participating films must be either in English or (necessary) have English subtitles. All foreign movies will be subtitled in Greek.
- A world premiere is not required. Films that will participate in the special tribute "Health" will definitely have a PanHellenic first screening.
- No entry fee required
- Date of film production: 2010 onwards
The festival has a retrospective character. For this reason, it is also interested in older films that will outline the Romanian short film production. The oldest date of a film production is 2010.
- All submissions must include an online screener (vimeo link or any similar site).
- The selected films will have to send a High Definition Analysis file (mpg, mxf, H264, or any other acceptable format) for download via Wetransfer or any other acceptable site.
- The selected films also has to submit:
i) dialogs list in English
ii) film photos
iii) director's biography
iv) director's photo
v) film's poster
vi) summary
vii) crew list
viii) technical characteristics
- The festival's short spot video will be displayed before each film.
- The festival has the right to use a small number of shots from each film to create a trailer in order to promote itself before the festival starts and also to use it inside the movie theatre while the festival is taking place.
- The selected films will be projected in a central theatre in Athens. It's called "Cinema Lais" (Greek Film Archive - Film Museum) and located at 48, Iera Odos & 134-136 Megalou Alexandrou Str., Kerameikos, Athens (www.tainiothiki.gr).
- The award-winning films will be selected by a 3-member jury.
- The award-winning films (14 special awards) will win their nationwide distribution in Greek cinemas with the support of the Federation of Greek Cinema Clubs.
- The online screening of the films will start at www.shortfilm.gr, right after the screening in the movie theatre at 1st of June 2019 and the public voting will last until June the 30th 2019 at 12:00 noon (time in Greece)
- The projection on the website www.shortfilm.gr is done with online streaming by t-shOrt (organizing company) channel, especially created for the festival, on vimeo.com.
- The best film according to the top10 as formed on 30st of June 2019 at 12.00 pm Greek time, will receive the audience award (300 €) and the Pan-Hellenic Distribution Award by the Federation of Greek Cinema Clubs (F.G.C.C.)
- After their online screening, all films will remain uploaded on www.shortfilm.gr.
Any director or producer who does NOT want the online screening of their film on www.shortfilm.gr after the end of the festival, must state it in the application form.
