About the festival

The Best of India Festival has been established by ShortsTV to honor and recognize exceptional work of the Indian (India) filmmaker. It is the goal to open doors for possible television deals and other opportunities to benefit the short filmmaker.

The top five short films will play theatrically in Los Angeles for a week as a ticketed event making it eligible for Oscar qualification (subject to Academy rules: https://www.oscars.org/sites/oscars/files/91aa_short_films.pdf).

ShortsTV, The Short Movie Channel will award prizes totaling $2,500 to the top five short films chosen in this year’s Best of India festival. Every film entered will be considered for a television broadcast deal (filmmakers do not have to accept).
