ANNOUNCEMENT 6/02/20
We are extending the final deadline to June 26th, and venues have been changed. The NYC & Dallas rounds will be an online show July 29th & 30th. For those who do not want their film shown online we will have a live show July 31st at Jokesters 22 in San Antonio, Tx. The finals will also be held at Jokesters 22, and the prize money is still $500.

ANNOUNCEMENT 5/15/20
The NYC round of Battle of The Sketches will now be live streamed from The PIT on June 27th. This is the only round that will be streamed. Those films selected who prefer not to participate in the streamed version will be entered into one of the Texas rounds.

ANNOUNCEMENT 5/4/20
Thank you to everyone who has submitted to Battle of The Sketches so far. This is the most diverse amount of sketches we have ever received from across the world, and we're truly grateful. Submission fees are still waived with code ComedyGold, and the final deadline is May 31st only on FilmFreeway. As of now no changes have been made for the June 24th to Aug 1st dates in NYC, Dallas, Austin, & San Antonio. If circumstances do not permit us to have a live show there will be a private live stream for that location & time. For any question please email us at sketchcomedy@battleofthesketches.com

For the remainder of the year we are waving all submission fees. If you have already submitted you have the option of getting a refund or donating the submission fee to Battle of The Sketches which would be put toward the prize money. All donations are appreciated so we will also be adding a $10 donation submission. As of now no changes have been made for the June 24th to Aug 1st dates in NYC, Dallas, Austin, & San Antonio. The grand prize will now be $500 to the funniest sketch overall. Code is (ComedyGold) If you have any questions please email us at skechcomedy@battleofthesketches.com

Comedians, Cartoonist, Sketch teams, & Filmmakers go head to head in a Battle Royale style comedy competition in multiple cities across the United States. Contestants are broken up into random categories, and the top 5 sketches from each city move onto the finals where one sketch is crowned Champion.

DFW: June 24th. Addison Improv (7:30PM)
NYC: June 27th The PIT (Loft Stage at 9PM)
San Antonio, Tx: July 8th Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club (8PM)

FINALS
Austin, Tx: Aug. 1st Spider House Cafe & Ballroom (8:30PM)

The overall funniest sketch wins $500.

Terms and rules

Rules:
1.) Must be a comedy sketch, film, or cartoon less than 10 minutes.
2.) Only one sketch per submission.
3.) Must be at least 720p or better.

There are no set categories. We want filmmakers to create whatever they think is funniest. Sketches must be less than 10 minutes (preferably 2 to 5 minutes). Battle of The Sketches, FMCW Studios, & Speer Media Productions is hereby granted the right to utilize an excerpt from any sketch submitted and accepted for exhibition at the comedy competition for promotional purposes. The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations. The undersigned shall indemnify and hold harmless Battle of The Sketches, FMCW Studios, & Speer Media Productions from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered. You are not guaranteed to be placed in the exact preliminary round that you want if selected.

Contestants are broken up into random categories. If you advance to the finals you will receive one ticket to the Finals. Please indicate in your cover letter which city/ cities you would prefer to enter, and we will try and place you there.
