The Bar Harbor Film Festival (BHFF) presents a wide range of narrative, documentary, animated, and experimental films. Often cutting edge, always entertaining, the short and feature length programs represent innovative cinematic works from both established and emerging filmmakers.

The Bar Harbor Film Festival (BHFF) invites its audience and filmmakers to engage in cinematic exploration. By showcasing the art and craft of visual storytelling, BHFF provides a unique environment to encounter international cinematic voices and to engage in thoughtful discourse. The festival’s panels and coffeehouse talks go further to fully immerse filmmakers and film goers in this environment for inspiration and creativity.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS & GENERAL RULES

1) Narrative features, documentaries and short films must have been completed after January 1, 2013.

2) For submission purposes, the preview Web Upload may be a work-in-progress, a film with a temporary soundtrack, or a lower resolution digital output.

3) Filmmakers must deliver final format (as indicated on application) for Festival screenings. No exceptions will be permitted.

4) Feature films must not have had any commercial, theatrical, cable, network television, or full length internet play in the United States.

5) Narrative feature, documentary, and short films in a language other than English must be subtitled in English for Festival presentation.
