About the festival

This is 5th edition of BEFF - Babul EFF, the first and only International Environmental Film Festival in Hyderabad and south India!
The festival is hosted in the historical Sri Sarathi studios established in 1956 [http://srisarathistudios.com/]. To ensure better connect with audience and leverage mileage nationally and internationally, the festival is held every year during first week of June to coincide with World Environment Day. Babul EFF is supported by 45 year old Hyderabad Film Club established in 1974. Hyderabad is capital of Telangana state and known as City of Pearls and Biryani, is a major film making hub and has many world class studios including the world's largest Ramoji Film City. Screening your film at BABUL EFF will ensure your film's reach to a quality and diverse audience & opens the doors for networking with the best of talent in film-making.
There will be Seminars / Panel Discussions / Eco Bazar / Master Classes / Studio tour etc., Our hashtag #babulecofest and for the 5th edition #babulecofest21
While we make all efforts to hold a live physical event, however, due to prevailing situation the festival holds the right to postpone/defer or convert to online virtual festival.

Terms and rules

~ Films should cover one or more aspects of Environment, Biodiversity and Sustainable Development. All genres, including documentaries, narratives, shorts, children’s films, and experimental films, PSAs are all welcome. The quality of the film production will also be considered and weighed. Animation includes: traditional animation, 2D animation, 3D animation, motion graphics, and stop motion
~ Film run-time: Upto 120 mins
~ Format: MP4 / AVI / MOV
~ Films shot on mobile are also accepted
~ Non-English films should have English
Subtitles
~ Win Laurels, get a screening certificate and
Recognition.
~ Films made after 1.1.2019 are eligible.
~ Last date for submission: 15 MAY 2021 Saturday

The Jury for pre and final selection of film for 5th BEFF 2021 consist of personalities from the world of environment, media, cinema, and audio-visual, as well as entrepreneurs or artists engaged in and/or sensitive to environmental issues. Decision of the organisers regarding film selection is final.
By submitting their films, the filmmakers agree that BEFF can screen the films at different venues as part of the travelling BEEF festival.

~For the Short Film Contest, in addition to the above, the following rules also apply:

Total prize money of Rs.50,000/- will be awarded. This includes:
~ USD 350 for Animation short films [open for all countries] and
~ ₹25,000/- for other short films [Indian Entries]
~ Films about Environment & Pandemic - Global <20 Mins
~ Ecosystem Restoration <60 min theme of World Environment Day for 2021

UNEP announced the theme of 2021 World Environment Day as Ecosystem Restoration. Also World Environment Day 2021 will see the launch of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration. To celebrate this Babul ngo invites film submissions on this topic for screening in BEFF the annual Babul Eco Film Festival.
