About the festival

The Arizona Sunburn Film Festival is a festival celebrating films including; music videos, short and feature length narrative and documentary, featuring those that were shot in Arizona. Additionally, the Arizona Sunburn Film Festival is accepting scripts, short (under 40 pages) and feature length, for review.

The Film of the Festival award will be issued to the film, picked by our panel, chosen to represent the best overall cinematic experience. The Script of the Festival award will be issued to the, short and separately to the feature, script that represents the best writing, if there are enough entries in each category.

Terms and rules

To be eligible for the festival a film will need to have been completed within the previous calendar year to the festival, and preferably have been shot in Arizona. In other words, the festival is held in July and the film was completed in January the previous year, or later, it is eligible for the festival.

Any genre of film will be considered including, short films, music videos, features in narrative or documentary format.
