ANIMA2019 – X Córdoba International Animation Festival
Rules and Regulations
I. ORGANIZATION, PLACE AND DATE
ANIMA2019 – X Córdoba International Animation Festival is jointly organized by the Faculty of Arts of the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba through its Centro Experimental de Animación; the Animation Chair of the Universidad Nacional de Villa María; and the UNC’s Secretaría de Extensión Universitaria. The festival receives support from the Centro de Producción e Investigación en Artes, UNC.
The festival will be held in Córdoba, Argentina, from October 9th through 11th, 2019.
II. OBJECTIVES
The Festival’s main objectives are:
● To favour the recognition of the art of animation in its many dimensions: technical, stylistic, as a social product, as a cultural asset, etc.
●To generate a meeting point for reflection, encounter and exchange among the different areas that, from their particular activities, contribute to this cultural industry.
● To promote regional technological development.
● To stimulate animation production, distribution and exhibition.
● To promote specific training instances in the field of animation.
III. ABOUT THE ENTRIES
The Festival is open to animation productions of every technique, genre, topic, format and screening media (film, video, television, Internet, smartphones, video games, etc. ). Special interest is granted to innovative works and also to student productions. Participation is open for artists all over the world, with emphasis in those from Latin America. There is no limit to the number of entries that a participant can send.
There is no entry fee.
Only films completed after January 1st 2017 and which have not been entered in former editions of the festival will be accepted. The festival does not pay screening fees.
Films should register under one of the following categories:
Short films
Fiction, Documentary and Non-narrative / Abstract
Feature and medium length animation
Running time over 30 minutes
Commissioned Animation
TV or Web Series
TV or Web Specials
Music Videos
Video game animation
Promotional or Advertising Animation
Motion Graphics
Immersive animation (VR, AR)
IV. JURIES AND DISTINCTIONS
The organizers will name Juries which will award Trophies and/or Diplomas on Competitive categories.

BEST ANIMATION FOR CHILDREN
If deemed appropiate, the Juries may also award Special Jury Mentions (Diploma), or deem vacant an award. All decisions of the Juries are final.
The audience attending the screenings will vote for the AUDIENCE AWARD (Diploma).
V. ENTRY PROCEDURES
Films should be registered by ONE of the following procedures, ALL OF WHICH ARE FREE OF CHARGE:
1. Directly with the festival:

PLEASE NOTE> For selection purposes, all films should be accesible online and streaming (YouTube, Vimeo, etc. ) DO NOT SEND A DVD. DO NOT SEND A FILE.
2. Through one of the following festival registration services:

In case of series, only one chapter should be submitted.
The Festival’s official languages are Spanish and English. If the film has dialogue in another language, the entrant must submit a subtitled copy in either Spanish or English.
VI. SELECTION AND EXHIBITION
The Organizers do not compromise to screen the total number of entries. Curatorship of the programs and their qualification as Competitive or Non Competitive will be of competence of the Artistic Director, and decisions on this respect will be final. If the entrant does not want the film to be considered for Non Competitive programs, it should indicate so in the space provided in the Entry Form.
Those whose entries have been selected for exhibition – either for Competitive or Non-Competitive categories – will receive a digital Certificate of Participation in the Festival, the Festival’s Laurels and Catalogue.
The outcome of the selection process will be informed on June 30th, 2019.
If your film is selected, we will contact you and ask you for a high definition file for projection, subtitles in .srt format, photographs and other promotional materials. In case of the Immersive Animation (VR, AR) category, we will also coordinate the particulars of submission and screening/presentation of the copy.
Failure to provide any of the requested materials on the requested deadline will automatically disqualify the entry.
We strongly recommend that those files are also sent as an Internet download. The Festival will not pay, in any case, any fees from the mailing of the entries.
The entrants authorize the Festival to use fragments of the selected entries (no more than 10% of their running time, up to 1 minute maximum) for publicity purposes on diverse audiovisual platforms.
VII. OTHER SCREENINGS
The organizers may exhibit the selected short films after the festival as part of touring exhibition programs. These screenings may be public or private, and be held anywhere in the world by the festival itself or by third parties, but only with free admittance and on cultural or educational purposes.
VIII. DEADLINE
Registration will be open until April 15th, 2019.
IX. MENTIONS
The entrants of the award-winning films at ANIMA2019 should mention the award and the text “X Córdoba International Animation Festival ANIMA2019” in the credits of their film, website and on all related documentation.
X. ABOUT COPYRIGHT ISSUES
Works which use pre-existent images or sound will be accepted under the entrant’s responsibility in which respects to third party’s copyright. The entrants will be responsible for claims of any nature that third parties might perform in respect to production credits, copyright, inclusion rights, performers’ rights, etc.
XI. ACCEPTANCE OF THESE RULES AND REGULATIONS
All participants, just by sending an entry to the Festival, fully accept these Rules and Regulations. Should any problem arise, it will be solved by the Organizers considering the Spanish version of these Rules and Regulations.
