The 512 Film Festival gives student filmmakers an opportunity to screen their films for a wider audience and receive recognition for their creative efforts. The festival features exceptional student filmmakers that highlight intersectional representation in the hopes of bringing positive changes to the film industry. A one-hundred dollar cash prize will be awarded to the winner of "Best '512' Short."
All proceeds from submission fees will be donated to SeriousFun Children’s Network. SeriousFun is a global community of thirty camps and programs for seriously ill children. All camps and programs offer free recreational experiences to children with serious illnesses and their family members. The festival is hosted by the Lambda chapter of Delta Kappa Alpha, the national, professional, gender-inclusive, cinematic society. The mission of Delta Kappa Alpha is to foster lifelong character, collaborative and creative storytelling, ethical and productive business practices, philanthropic action, and societal bonds by and between students of the cinematic arts. Special consideration is given to films that highlight diversity in gender and race amongst their cast and crew.
